2011 Day at the Capitol Wrap Up

Our 2011 Day at the Capitol wrapped up Tuesday evening with a great turnout of members and legislators alike.  With more than 30 legislators coming and going the room buzzed with discussions of the day's legislative activities and discussions on issues facing Kansans with developmental disabilities.

Overall, the day was full of important exchanges and an abundance of InterHab  members making connections with legislators from across the state.  Original artwork created by individuals with developmental disabilities was delivered to each and every legislator this year.  Members have shared that legislators and their staff reacted overwhelmingly positive to such a unique gift.

Thank you to all of our InterHab members who made this year's Day at the Capitol such a successful event.  Day at the Capitol is an important opportunity to touch base with legislators at a critical time in the session.  InterHab's KU practicum student, Caroline Dowey, was also present on Tuesday to learn why Day at the Capitol is important to InterHab members, check out the videos below to learn more...
