Google launches program to support emerging technology for people with disabilities

Google announced Tuesday that the company will be putting $20 million in Google.org grants behind nonprofits using emerging technologies to increase independence for people living with disabilities.

The initiative called Google Impact Challenge: Disabilities, will seek out nonprofits and help them find new solutions for the disability community. Google will then select some of these ideas and help them to scale by investing in their vision with their staff and resources.

Google issued an open call for nonprofits across the globe to submit their ideas/solutions for consideration.  The tech giant posted on their official site that they hope the challenge will propel even more technological innovation that will create meaningful and positive change for people with disabilities.
